Life Update and April Favs

Lifestyle

Hey guys! Long time, no see. Sorry I suck and I’ve been barely posting. I’m really struggling to find some inspiration and, honestly, I’m just counting down the days till graduation. Once June hits I’ll be moving back down to Portland and I’ll have more time and more things to do and post about.

Right now I’m almost halfway through an 18 credit quarter as well as working as the Merchandising lead for my programs annual Fashion Show. Don’t get me wrong, I love being busy and I love working on the show! But it’s a lot of work and I’m still trying to figure out how to fit my blog in between everything. Plus I’m

But I have some fun plans coming up! This weekend I’m flying to Las Vegas to visit my boyfriend for the weekend. I’ve never been so I’m incredibly stoked!

Okay now, you might be wondering what April Favs is all about? Well I decided to start doing a monthly post about something going on in my life and linking that to five things I’ve discovered in the past month. It’s also a great way to make myself get out more and it helps with inspiration.

  1. Music
    • Okay so I have been a huge fan of Gorillaz since I was, like, 12. I just recently listened to their new stuff and it’s like I fell in love all over again. If you haven’t listened to their new album, Humanz, then go do that right now! Gorillaz are super hot right now and I couldn’t afford a ticket to go see them in Seattle but I could afford a ticket to the music festival, Life is Beautiful in September, where they are headlining! I know, I know… a festival is cheaper than a concert? Go figure. Anyways, the lineup for LIB is phenomenal! I would recommend you go buy a ticket right now but only if you want VIP tickets. Advance General Admission sold out in 5 seconds and the rest of General Admission sold out in 4 hours. A huge plus is that it’s in Vegas, where my boyfriend lives. Long distance sucks but it’s great when we can look forward to jamming out to Zhu and Matoma together.
  2. Food
    • I spend most of my time on campus during the week, doing homework and meeting with classmates to work on projects, so it’s really important that I bring a lot of food with me because I can’t function on an empty stomach. I recently found this recipe and it is DELICIOUS! It’s always tempting to buy a bagel from an on campus coffee stand but this pasta salad is healthier and cheaper. I make a big batch at home and then I can pack it in my lunch for the next couple of days. It gives me the perfect boost in the middle of a busy day. Pro tip: Make it with quinoa pasta for more protein and gluten free!
  3. Clothing
    • Okay so this is about Levi’s and the fact that they are my favorite brand is not something that occurred this week… Buuuuut! This week I did receive my new Wedgie Fit Shorts from them and they will easily be my summer staple this year. I never really jumped on the Wedgie bandwagon but these shorts are incredibly flattering and I’m constantly planning summer outfits. I kind of want the jeans now… But I don’t want to spend too much time on this. Once the weather gets warmer I’ll be coming out with some new outfit posts featuring them.
  4. Television
    • So…. Girlboss anyone? It’s my current binge. I’m obsessed. I usually save my Netflix and chill (which is done solo, with ice cream) for the weekend but I can’t stop watching this show between doing homework assignments. One time I told myself that I was allowed to watch an episode every time I read 20 pages… I like reward systems I guess. It’s whatever. The show follows a “loose” retelling of events that led Sophia Amoruso to create her iconic website, Nasty Gal. If you haven’t started this show yet then I highly recommend it!

What are some new things you’ve discovered? I’d love to hear them!
