Okay let me just tell you guys about this totally rad brand…

I recently discovered Prairie Underground while working at my internship. Adorn Boutiques in Portland carries so many pieces by them and I instantly fell in love!

But let me talk about the best part:

The brand is totally ethical and sustainable. They use a variety of sustainable fibers, such as organic cotton, hemp, Tencel, and so many others. They also use reactive dye and recycled materials. The brand is based in Seattle and that is where all of their garments are manufactured.

They’re also very conscious of waste. Something that I highly respect is when a brand tries to reduce waste by using a made-to-order production process. By not manufacturing a million garments, it reduces the chance of the clothing ending up in landfills if it does not sell. This also adds a huge sense of uniqueness to each piece of clothing.

I recently worked their Sample Sale in Portland a couple weeks ago (which was hosted by Adorn) and I scored this dress! It’s light and airy and pairing it with some comfy walking shoes makes it the perfect dress for walking around the city all day in the heat.

Their clothing is definitely at a higher price point due to the materials and manufacturing process, but they hold Sample Sales in Portland and Seattle multiple times a year so definitely check one out if you’re in the area!

My favorite way to style it? With a denim jacket and some silver jewelry!

Sustainable and ethically produced fashion is something that I am very passionate about and I try my best to incorporate as much of it into my wardrobe as I can! Today there are various resources that have shown us that fashion is usually manufactured at the cost of others but more and more slow fashion brands are emerging to prove that’s not the only option.

And I love that!
