So here is a little fun fact about me: I grew up across the river from Portland, OR in Vancouver, WA. I always loved visiting Portland on the weekends though; the city life was way more exciting than the suburban life in my eyes. I loved the fast paced environment, as if everyone was on their own mission! Walking past the beautiful window displays of Nordstrom and Anthropologie, then taking a break in one of the many coffee shops, I decided I was from Portland. It sounds cooler, right? And then when I eventually traveled overseas I had to tell people I was from Portland because, to most people, Vancouver means I am from British Columbia, Canada.

Now fast forward to the present and I work in a store known for their gorgeous window displays and I am a barista in one of those wonderful little coffee shops. But… I still live in Vancouver.

People are always shocked that I sit in traffic everyday to get to my job in Portland but it’s totally worth it for me. I love working in the city and networking with people in the city. To me, there are more opportunities in Portland. But don’t get me wrong, the commute isn’t my favorite thing.

Sometimes I have to choose to either sit in traffic for 2 hours or to park at a transit center and take the light rail into the city. And if I do drive downtown, I can always bet that the parking spot I find will be at least 3 blocks away from that destination. But maybe that’s why I like it? Every day is a new adventure! In the Summer the walking isn’t so bad, but the Winter is when the commute really gets to me! The weather has finally turned here in Portland and walking to work isn’t quite as glamorous as you might imagine… until now, that is.

This last week I got to partner with Sound Huggle, also known as The World’s Comfiest Headphones!

These earmuffs are exactly what my closet was missing! To be honest, I’m not really into beanies. They’re cool but I just feel like they don’t fit my style (and don’t even get me started on hat hair!) So a pair of earmuffs is the perfect way to keep my ears warm when I’m walking to work downtown.

When I’m riding the bus or the light rail I cannot survive without music and, thankfully, these earmuffs double as wireless headphones! By connecting my phone via Bluetooth I can listen to my music and I can even take calls! Oh and did I mention the sound quality is AMAZING??? Honestly, way better than I was expecting and they won’t stop working in sub-degree temperatures. Which means I’m definitely bringing these to the mountain this Winter!

They’re also super lightweight and collapsible! I use lots of different purses, depending on my plan for the day, and these headphones collapse small enough to fit in every single one! I even tested it.

Whether I’m heading downtown for work, meetings, or to meet up with friends, I’m so excited to be rocking these this season! Especially with all the black I wear, it’s nice to throw in a pop of color!
