Walking through twisting, cobblestone streets, sitting outside my favorite cafe in Montmarte, strolling though the gardens by the Louvre, sitting on benches next to the Seine to write in my journal, and sitting on the balcony of my Airbnb, right next to the Moulin Rouge, eating my breakfast and people watching. These are all the things I miss about Paris.
Exploring a new city, visiting multiple times to find my favorite cafes and restaurants, figuring out how to navigate all the twisting, cobblestone streets, and interacting with locals. These are all the things I miss about traveling.
After finally getting used to the idea that I am done with university, I have been trying to figure out what I want and what my next step is. The only thing I can come up with is traveling! I don’t want a corporate job, or a 9-5 job, or a steady income. What I want is to work multiple part time jobs so that I can save up and can afford to take a couple weeks off in the future to visit a new place! I have no desire to tie myself down just yet.
So where am I off to next? Well, I’ll talk a little bit more about that in the New Year!
Back to Paris…
To be honest, Paris is not my favorite city but it does have the best pastries! I never knew what a real baguette tasted like until I went to France. And don’t even get me started on the croissants! Despite their overpriced espresso, I really miss my favorite cafe in Montmarte. This is a photo from my first trip to Paris, and it was just the starter for a wonderful breakfast
Thankfully, French cafes and bakeries are not totally scarce in the States.
Whenever I’m in the mood for a taste of Europe I head to my favorite cafe, St Honoré Boulangerie. They have three locations and my favorite is the one on Thurman but for these pictures I went to their Division location. Whether I’m simply in the mood for just a pastry and a cappuccino, or a breakfast made up of either Croque Monsieur or a vegetable quiche, this is my favorite spot to hit up!
While reminiscing of Paris, I decided to go with my high waisted jeans and a striped tee. Very Parisian, am I right? Oh, and these Sam Edelman heeled booties have been my fav for Fall and Winter! They’re not the most comfortable when worn all day, but for a little while they’re great!
Then I decided to sport this camel colored long coat. I love neutrals in the Fall and this coat adds an element of sophistication that I’m usually lacking in my outfits. And my life, if I’m being real.
Once again, I brought along my Ellen & James black, basket bag! But this time around I tied a thrifted scarf around the strap to add a pop of color to my outfit.
It’s always so relaxing to go back and look through all my photos from traveling so that I can think about where I want to go next and to reflect on my past adventures. When it comes to food, traveling has given me a bigger appreciation for so many different kinds of food.
And when it comes to fashion, nothing else has inspired my personal style more than traveling.
