Happy Monday! Is anybody else bummed out that the weekend is over? I usually try to be pretty optimistic but I was not ready for today. So I focused my mind on one of my favorite weekend activities: brunch.
A couple weekends ago I had the chance to sit down with my friend, Ingrid, and discuss new trends in the fashion industry over some delicious food at Milk Glass Mrkt.
Stimulating conversation about sustainable and ethical production practices and a biscuit sandwich- what could be better?
While I was getting over a cold at the time, I opted for chai instead of a mimosa. The chai was delicious but I’ll definitely be back for a grapefruit mimosa.
Thanks to Ingrid’s recommendation, I ordered the cheddar biscuit sandwich with smoked salmon and herbed eggs. It was basically to die for! The biscuit was warm and fluffy and the eggs had so much flavor! You can’t go wrong with salmon for brunch, in my opinion anyways. If it’s on the menu, I always opt for salmon.
The entire cafe had a minimalist, yet comfortable vibe to it. As soon as you enter the cafe they take your order at the counter and to your left is a cold case of drinks selling wine and beer. Bar seating wraps around the entire cafe and there are also tables. But definitely grab a seat outside if the weather is nice!
Each table comes with a reused bourbon bottle full of water, adding a super neat (and sustainable) aesthetic.
I’m still going strong on my mission to find the best brunch spot in Portland, where should I go next? It’ll keep my mind busy as I try to make it through the work week.
Milk Glass Mrkt is open from Tuesday – Sunday from 9am to 3pm and they are located on
2150 N Killingsworth St, Portland, OR.
