Graduation, Laryngitis, and What’s Next

Lifestyle

Hey everyone! So I don’t have any May favs this month because this last month has been craaaazy! My favorite thing was that one day I had time for a nap so… yeah. I spent the last quarter working on the merchandising team for my school’s annual fashion show and that was mixed with finals and then on Saturday I graduated! I feel like I only just now caught my breath.

So here is a quick update on my life:

I graduated from college on Saturday with a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising! It still hasn’t hit me that I graduated… In fact, it was especially underwhelming when I told the teller at the bank that I graduated on Saturday and she asked me if I was going to go to college next. Apparently I look like I’m still 18?

But all of my friends and family have been so incredibly supportive and I got to celebrate over the weekend with them! My brother recently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree so we had a joint graduation party. I shared this Sangria recipe over Thanksgiving and within the next couple of weeks I will be posting a more refreshing, white sangria I made for the party!

So what’s next?

This week I moved back to Portland where I will be officially completing my degree as a full time intern at a small boutique as well as getting back into this blog. I’m placing a ton of emphasis on gaining more skills in styling, photography, social media branding, and, of course, writing. I will also be adding a category for health and fitness because that will be a huge focus of mine this summer. Unfortunately my post-college bank account won’t be allowing me any crazy travel plans this summer but I will be keeping you all updated on the cheapest events to hit up in Portland this summer! As well as some awesome road trip and backpacking guides.

For now I am sitting in bed constantly drinking tea because, for the first time ever in my life, I have laryngitis! It’s absolutely awful! I was helping with styling a shoot in downtown Portland last night and I could barely talk and today my voice is 100% gone. Any tips on how to recover from this quickly?? I’m switching between tea with lemon and honey and just plain herbal tea. I’m avoiding dairy and I’m doing absolutely zero talking. This is tough for me because I can never shut up… Maybe that’s why this post is getting so long? I haven’t had a conversation with anyone all day!

I’ll wrap it up now! This weekend one of my roommates from Florence is flying over from Illinois to come visit me and she is a blogger too so it’ll be fun to do some collabs this weekend!

I’m incredibly stoked to be back in the city and to share my post-college life with you all! Stay tuned!
