Summer Sangria

Food

Last November I tried my hand at Sangria for the first time and came up with this simple Holiday Sangria!

Traditional Sangria is supposed to be made with red wine but sometimes white wine is a bit more refreshing in the Summertime so I made this one using white moscato. With the addition of lemonade and strawberries, it’s kind of like spiked strawberry lemonade. And who doesn’t enjoy a spiked version of their favorite childhood drink?

I made this back in June for my graduation party and it was a huge hit and perfect for an outdoor BBQ!

So, what will you need?

  • A large pitcher
  • 2 lemons
  • 1/2 container of strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of triple sec
  • 1 cup of lemonade
  • 2 cups (or 1 can) of ginger ale
  • 1 bottle of white moscato

The first step is going to be cutting up the lemons and the strawberries. You only need to cut up one lemon so that you can save the second one for juicing. Once the fruit is all cut up, toss them into the pitcher!

Next, juice the other lemon into a separate container so that you can strain out any seeds if you need to.

Then you will want to add the lemon juice, the lemonade, ginger ale, and triple sec to the pitcher!

Last, but not least, pour the moscato into the pitcher!

Give it one good stir!

Then let it chill for 4-6 hours!

This recipe is so simple and the perfect way to enjoy it? Paired with some Spanish food, such as paella!

Definitely give this a try before the Summer is over and let me know how you like it! What are your favorite Summer drinks? Any spiked punches I should try?
