2017 Recap and 2018 Resolutions!

Lifestyle

To be honest, I think New Year’s Resolutions are kind of silly because I make new resolutions about five times a week, sometimes going through with them and sometimes not.

But I love the idea of challenging myself to make lifestyle choices that will make the next year better than the last!

And recaps? Yeah, they’re cliché but I think they’re a great way to reflect and that’s how we come up with next year’s resolutions!

So below I’ve written the highlights of my 2017 and what I hope to do better in 2018!

  • I visited a new countries, The Netherlands, and revisited France and Italy. I’m going to continue with my 2016 Resolution to never go a full year without leaving the country!
  • In June I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising and this year my goal is to continue learning and improving my skills. Specifically in styling and textile knowledge.
  • August, 2017 marked one year of Tequila Stained Tees and in this next year I plan to focus on marketing myself better online and through social media and to also expand my network. I also have lots of fun plans that involve incorporating more of a theme with my posts.
  • I got way better than I could’ve hoped at cooking this last year and I plan on continuing to learn in the new year. Thankfully I have two incredible chefs as parents and I can’t wait to see what they can teach me! Along with learning how to cook, this next year I will be trying out a Mediterranean diet. I absolutely hate the word diet when it is used to describe a restriction on the food you can eat. I am not going to be restricting myself 100% of anything. Most of my favorite meals are in a Mediterranean diet so this will be easy. It’s simply a way for me to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet, as well as fish and whole grains and to lessen my intake of dairy and meat.
  • After going through a year of having a lot of health issues and flare ups with my autoimmune disease, I’m looking forward to setting strength goals for myself in 2018. I’m determined to feel stronger and healthier than I was last year!
  • This last year I had the opportunity to do the best internship I could’ve imagined! I realized what career path I want to pursue and I can’t wait to spend the next year working and developing more of a game plan for myself! All the while continuing to work with the amazing and inspiring individuals I’ve met this past year.
  • This last year I made more friends than I lost and I can’t wait to see what new friendships 2018 will bring!

So long 2017, and cheers to 2018!
